wsl-fedoraremix has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
Congratulations! This package passed automatic validation review without flagging on any issues the validator currently checks. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

gep13 (reviewer) on 31 Aug 2020 06:51:34 +00:00:

Will leave this with you, let us know when ready.

chocolatey-ops (reviewer) on 20 Sep 2020 06:54:45 +00:00:

We've found wsl-fedoraremix v1.31.21.0 in a submitted status and waiting for your next actions. It has had no updates for 20 or more days since a reviewer has asked for corrections. Please note that if there is no response or fix of the package within 15 days of this message, this package version will automatically be closed (rejected) due to being stale.

Take action:

  • Log in to the site and respond to the review comments.
  • Resubmit fixes for this version.
  • If the package version is failing automated checks, you can self-reject the package.

If your package is failing automated testing, you can use the chocolatey test environment to manually run the verification and determine what may need to be fixed.

Note: We don't like to see packages automatically rejected. It doesn't mean that we don't value your contributions, just that we can not continue to hold packages versions in a waiting status that have possibly been abandoned. If you don't believe you will be able to fix up this version of the package within 15 days, we strongly urge you to log in to the site and respond to the review comments until you are able to.

chocolatey-ops (reviewer) on 05 Oct 2020 06:58:52 +00:00:

Unfortunately there has not been progress to move wsl-fedoraremix v1.31.21.0 towards an approved status within 15 days after the last review message, so we need to close (reject) the package version at this time. If you want to pick this version up and move it towards approval in the future, use the contact site admins link on the package page and we can move it back into a submitted status so you can submit updates.

Status Change - Changed status of package from 'submitted' to 'rejected'.

Fedora Remix for Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)

Fedora Remix for WSL is a remix of upstream Fedora software for Windows Subsystem for Linux on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Server.

Fedora Remix for WSL is powered by Pengwin Enterprise from Whitewater Foundry. Fedora Remix for WSL is not endorsed by the Fedora Project or Red Hat, Inc. but is provided under the Fedora Remix program.

Fedora Remix for WSL contains modifications to the official Fedora distribution. The unmodified Fedora distribution can be obtained here. Fedora Remix for WSL does not contain wlinux-setup or other features of WLinux.

Fedora Remix for WSL is provided on a community-support basis. There is no support available for Fedora Remix for WSL from the Fedora community other than that which is offered to all users.

Differences from upstream Fedora:

  • Fedora Remix for WSL is based on the @core package group from Fedora.
  • The following packages have been removed from the default install of Fedora Remix for WSL: grub, plymouth, kernel, sssd, linux-firmware, dracut, parted, e2fsprogs, iprutils, ppc64-utils, selinux-policy, policycoreutils, sendmail, man-db, firewalld, fedora-release, fedora-logos, and fedora-release-notes.
  • The following non-default package has been added to the default install to comply with the terms of the Fedora Remix program: generic-release.
  • The following configuration files have custom settings applied for the WSL environment: /etc/wsl.conf, /etc/local.conf, /etc/profile.
  • The following files have been removed and will be automatically re-generated if/as needed: /etc/resolv.conf, /boot, and /var/cache/dnf/*.
  • The following custom package have been added to enhance the WSL experience: wslutilities, https://github.com/wslutilities/wslu.

Troubleshooting and support options:

  1. Basic troubleshooting will solve many problems encountered with WSL.
  2. You can search for your issue in the main WSL issues page.
  3. You may also open an issue here on our GitHub page for community support.

Whitewater Foundry devs monitor the Fedora Remix for WSL GitHub issues page however users who require dedicated end-user support for WSL should consider WLinux instead. Businesses and other organizations who would like to recieve professional ongoing support should e-mail us or visit our website to learn more about WLinux Enterprise.

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.
