Deployment Method:

NOTE

This applies to both open source and commercial editions of Chocolatey.

1. Enter Your Internal Repository Url

(this should look similar to https://community.chocolatey.org/api/v2/)

2. Setup Your Environment

1. Ensure you are set for organizational deployment

Please see the organizational deployment guide

2. Get the package into your environment

  • Open Source or Commercial:
    • Proxy Repository - Create a proxy nuget repository on Nexus, Artifactory Pro, or a proxy Chocolatey repository on ProGet. Point your upstream to https://community.chocolatey.org/api/v2/. Packages cache on first access automatically. Make sure your choco clients are using your proxy repository as a source and NOT the default community repository. See source command for more information.
    • You can also just download the package and push it to a repository Download

3. Copy Your Script

choco upgrade pragmaticworksworkbench -y --source="'INTERNAL REPO URL'" --version="'2017.3.3.710-beta'" --prerelease [other options]

See options you can pass to upgrade.

See best practices for scripting.

Add this to a PowerShell script or use a Batch script with tools and in places where you are calling directly to Chocolatey. If you are integrating, keep in mind enhanced exit codes.

If you do use a PowerShell script, use the following to ensure bad exit codes are shown as failures:

choco upgrade pragmaticworksworkbench -y --source="'INTERNAL REPO URL'" --version="'2017.3.3.710-beta'" --prerelease
$exitCode = $LASTEXITCODE

Write-Verbose "Exit code was $exitCode"
$validExitCodes = @(0, 1605, 1614, 1641, 3010)
if ($validExitCodes -contains $exitCode) {
  Exit 0
}

Exit $exitCode

- name: Install pragmaticworksworkbench
  win_chocolatey:
    name: pragmaticworksworkbench
    version: '2017.3.3.710-beta'
    source: INTERNAL REPO URL
    state: present
    allow_prerelease: yes

See docs at https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/latest/modules/win_chocolatey_module.html.

chocolatey_package 'pragmaticworksworkbench' do
  action    :install
  source   'INTERNAL REPO URL'
  version  '2017.3.3.710-beta'
  options  '--prerelease'
end

See docs at https://docs.chef.io/resource_chocolatey_package.html.

cChocoPackageInstaller pragmaticworksworkbench

    Version     = "2017.3.3.710-beta"
    Source      = "INTERNAL REPO URL"
    chocoParams = "--prerelease"
}

Requires cChoco DSC Resource. See docs at https://github.com/chocolatey/cChoco.

package { 'pragmaticworksworkbench':
  ensure          => '2017.3.3.710-beta',

In cases where actual malware is found, the packages are subject to removal. Software sometimes has false positives. Moderators do not necessarily validate the safety of the underlying software, only that a package retrieves software from the official distribution point and/or validate embedded software against official distribution point (where distribution rights allow redistribution).

Chocolatey Pro provides runtime protection from possible malware.

BI xPress version 2017.3.3.710-beta

New Features

11676: Add support for SSIS 2017 targeting with existing feature set to BI xPress and BI xPress Server
12378: User Defined Best Practices' path evaluator can now be manually edited

Updated Features

11115: Auditing framework now includes ability to reopen packages upon completion
  • Allows users to quickly apply the auditing framework to multiple open packages without being prompted by Visual Studio to reload
  • On occasion, after applying the Auditing Framework Visual Studio will stop displaying package executions. If you are experiencing this behavior, use this feature

Fixes

1627: Package executions that contain errors, but are still running can't be marked as stopped
11045: Within Visual Studio 2015 Extension, the package layout information is not being captured for OnSave events
11162: Auditing, Notification, and Deployment Wizards do not display the correct SSIS version in title bar
11176: BI xPress does not detect the SSIS Versions when only SSDT is installed
11198: Attempt to parse the expression "@[UservarSSISOps_DisableVarLogging]==true && @[UservarSSISOps_DisableConnLogging]==true" failed
11558: Auditing Framework - Selecting Project in Workbench crashes Workbench
11599: After package execution, Notification Framework Event log displays "The description for Event ID 0 from source BI xPress cannot be found"
11620: The data types nvarchar(max) and ntext are incompatible in the equal to operator.
11628: Notification Framework improperly detects SSIS version
11629: Latest variable values sometimes do not show up within the Monitoring Console
11640: Variable masking does not mask parameter values and some wildcard scenarios don't work
11694: When connecting to an SSRS 2016 Report Server that contains KPIs, Report Mover throws "KPI is not a valid enum value."
11984: Configuration Manager shows password when you hover.
12022: The expression for variable "varSSISOps_DisableParameterInitialValueLogging" failed evaluation. There was an error in the expression.
12023: Opening Monitoring Console: Conversion failed when converting from a character string to uniqueidentifier

DBA xPress version 2017.3.3.710-beta

New Features

11677: Added support for SQL Server 2017

Updated Features

11142: Schema Inspector now includes output control for selecting items to include within change script
  • Enabling output control allows you to skip individual elements from change scripts. By doing so, you may end up with a script that is broken (for example, because a dependent object can no longer be created). Please carefully check any generated scripts.

Fixes

11164: Schema Inspector elects to perform a table rebuild before it knows the synchronization direction
12027: Schema Inspector should issue a SP RENAME if the only difference is the object name.
12419: Schema Inspector Report button throws Null Reference Exception error
