logitech-options has passed automated validation. It may have or may still fail other checks like testing (verification).
NOTE: No required changes that the validator checks have been flagged! It is appreciated if you fix other items, but only Requirements will hold up a package version from approval. A human review could still turn up issues a computer may not easily find.

Guidelines

Guidelines are strong suggestions that improve the quality of a package version. These are considered something to fix for next time to increase the quality of the package. Over time Guidelines can become Requirements. A package version can be approved without addressing Guideline comments but will reduce the quality of the package.

  • Release Notes (releaseNotes) are a short description of changes in each version of a package. Please include releasenotes in the nuspec. NOTE: To prevent the need to continually update this field, providing a URL to an external list of Release Notes is perfectly acceptable. More...
Suggestions

Suggestions are either newly introduced items that will later become Guidelines or items that are don't carry enough weight to become a Guideline. Either way they should be considered. A package version can be approved without addressing Suggestion comments.

  • The nuspec has been enhanced to allow more information related to the software. More... Please consider adding one or more of the following to the nuspec, if available:

Notes typically flag things for both you and the reviewer to go over. Sometimes this is the use of things that may or may not be necessary given the constraints of what you are trying to do and/or are harder for automation to flag for other reasons. Items found in Notes might be Requirements depending on the context. A package version can be approved without addressing Note comments.

logitech-options has failed automated testing.
This is not the only check that is performed so check the package page to ensure a 'Ready' status.
Please visit https://gist.github.com/988b021ebf73cb58360747b9c1871063 for details.
The package status will be changed and will be waiting on your next actions.

  • NEW! We have a test environment for you to replicate the testing we do. This can be used at any time to test packages! See https://github.com/chocolatey/chocolatey-test-environment
  • Please log in and leave a review comment if you have questions and/or comments.
  • If you see the verifier needs to rerun testing against the package without resubmitting (a issue in the test results), you can do that on the package page in the review section.
  • If the verifier is incompatible with the package, please log in and leave a review comment if the package needs to bypass testing (e.g. package installs specific drivers).
  • Automated testing can also fail when a package is not completely silent or has pop ups (AutoHotKey can assist - a great example is the VeraCrypt package).
  • A package that cannot be made completely unattended should have the notSilent tag. Note that this must be approved by moderators.

REQUESTING EXEMPTION:
Even with .NET 4.5.2 as a dependency a message appears saying "Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 is required for this application and will be installed on your system."

When Logitech Options' installer attempts to install .NET 4.5.2 it can't because of .NET 4.5.2's previous install requiring a reboot.

gep13 (reviewer) on 26 Sep 2019 07:54:15 +00:00:

I have just attempted the installation of this package on the local testing environment, and even after a reboot, and attempting the installation of the package again, an error is reported during the installation. Specifically:

The program can't start because bthprops.cpl is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem

This suggests that there is another missing dependency.

bcurran3 (maintainer) on 29 Sep 2019 15:56:36 +00:00:

This doesn't appear to be a dependency or package problem. I THINK it's a program problem. That file is related to bluetooth drivers and appears to be an OS issue. It's possible I could package up tens of bluetooth drivers for Win7/Server2012 but isn't feasible. I can only guess that those that use this have bluetooth drivers already installed. I think it's still needs an exemption but unsure of stating the official reason.

Pauby (reviewer) on 30 Sep 2019 13:45:57 +00:00:

I get the same error as @gep13. The box pops up and says '.NET 4.5.2' is required. Whatever you click it then goes on to display the error about bthprops.ctl.

The install needs to be made silent and the bthprops.ctl error resolved before this can progress.

We've found logitech-options v8.00.863 in a submitted status and waiting for your next actions. It has had no updates for 20 or more days since a reviewer has asked for corrections. Please note that if there is no response or fix of the package within 15 days of this message, this package version will automatically be closed (rejected) due to being stale.

Take action:

  • Log in to the site and respond to the review comments.
  • Resubmit fixes for this version.
  • If the package version is failing automated checks, you can self-reject the package.

If your package is failing automated testing, you can use the chocolatey test environment to manually run the verification and determine what may need to be fixed.

Note: We don't like to see packages automatically rejected. It doesn't mean that we don't value your contributions, just that we can not continue to hold packages versions in a waiting status that have possibly been abandoned. If you don't believe you will be able to fix up this version of the package within 15 days, we strongly urge you to log in to the site and respond to the review comments until you are able to.

Hi,

Bluetooth is not build in WS12R2, a separate BlueTooth stack needs to be installed: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/fa5fbef0-9d06-47e3-b811-ab675d69adc7/does-anyone-know-how-can-i-use-bluetooth-on-windows-server-2012-r2?forum=winserver8gen

The product page only shows desktop versions to be supported: https://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/options

I think a test should be added to test for Windows Server and exit with an error.

chocolatey-ops (reviewer) on 04 Nov 2019 13:50:53 +00:00:

Unfortunately there has not been progress to move logitech-options v8.00.863 towards an approved status within 15 days after the last review message, so we need to close (reject) the package version at this time. If you want to pick this version up and move it towards approval in the future, use the contact site admins link on the package page and we can move it back into a submitted status so you can submit updates.

Status Change - Changed status of package from 'submitted' to 'rejected'.
